The General Student Committee is responsible for student concerns, similar to the departmental student councils. However, unlike the departmental student councils, they do this on a university-wide level.

Tasks here include, for example, the organization of TUNIX (and GARNIX) and some parties, which are publicly visible, as well as maintaining contact with the university management, the student union, or the MVV, which is less visible to the public. In addition, the AStA offers some services to support the departmental student councils, such as event technology and a lot of material needed for parties.
